Actually....chess is just simply a game where the more you play, the better you get. There is no relationship with geek math or science or high I.Q. levels at all. It's just that "geeks" (or smart people) were not too much into physical sports so chess became their game. So chess got the reputation for belonging to the intelligent ones.

Intelligence does not make you a great chess player but it certainly helps.
Exactly. Nothing more needs to be said.
Lolzz! You state those figures like there's been some kind of study on this, kenpo... or are you pulling them from the abyss?
Btw... 110 is above average IQ.

This website has proven that there is no relation between chess and intelligence.
I agree
yesterday i pick two boys ,1 was topper of his class and intelligent guy and other 2nd was a dull student of class and stood at last positions in class. i teach them move and some basics in same time same conditions and same style on short every thing is equal, then they play a game ...... and no 1 won easily. so how it happens if intelligency not matter
yesterday i had debate with my dude....who is not a chess player,he argue on the topic of intelligence and chess,,,he said chess is a game of skills and experiance as other games and sports, how you relate intelligence and chess....no matter how much you intelligent ,if you do not have experiance and skills you are nothing ....for example...if a most intelligent person of the world do not have proper skill of chess or experiance or knowledge of game, he can not beat a beginner level chess player.
