It seems fishy that the legal marriage paper suddenly appeared out of the thin air in the appeal and fischer was not granted japanese citizenship for it?

Gaining naturalised Japanese citizenship is, to put mildly, difficult. AFAIK there is no automatic way of doing so - the usual criteria such as amount of time spent there legally, marrying a citizen etc do not always apply.

Also, since he was in jail for most of that time, that wouldn't have helped with the citizenship application, I imagine.

Well comrade, when you create your own country you can elect yourself king and make up your own rules.  Until then you have swallow it like EVERYONE ELSE.   Btw, I don't like the way your rook moves. So when we play you won't be able to move it the way you normally do.  I, on the other hand, will do what I want.  Get it?

If everyone just swallow whatever is given to them and kept to their place then there wouldn't be any wars or revolutions now would there?

I don't intend to live my life the way an organization or the majority tells me to, I'll either migrate or even attempt to 'elect' myself as the king if there is no country on earth with people and laws that fits my point of view.

"I dont agree that his nephews are entitled to anything. What did they ever do for him ?  Nothing that I am aware of. His wife was by him at the end and helped him through his terrible ordeal when he was locked up in Japan. Relatives deserve nothing if they have basically ignored you your entire life. "

the $ will still have to go somewhere even if there was no1 that cared for him when he was alive and I'm just saying that I would've preffered his nephews get it than a supposed wife that seems suspicious

Very interesting. I wonder if the "jews" have something to do with it?  S n a r k.

I see I'm being trolled here

sorry to break it to you but not everyone is an extremist here, maybe you shouldn't stereotype people based on the country they reside in.

GOOD DAY SIR!

Yes i was testing you.  Good job not being a complete nut job.  I do find it interesting that Fischer took to the airways in the Phillipines to voice his extremist views.  Why would he do it there?  I don't know,  I'm must wondering.

Or was that in Indonesia?

You're refering to this protest?

If you're gonna associate everyone here with the vocal minority then maybe you could relate to this guy

most of us in the cities do not care about the middle east or support hamas, we're probably consuming more made in USA goods than you guys are buying made in China since US goods appear to be subsidized and sold at prices near china's goods.

Well I'd better get some sleep now

Did Fischer leave a will ?

Obviously not or there would not have been all these court battles in Iceland.

Well... They would have been more pointless anyway.

It is possible to challenge a will posthumously. See Marshall, J Howard ...

Re-read the 2nd line of my reply before you try to one-up me.

The point of the Marshall example is that the will was changed posthumously - so a court case to determine who was Fischer's valid heir would not necessarily have been pointless, even had he left a will.

Yes, good point!

No, the paternity claim from that side was proven false/incorrect by DNA tests.

Well clearly "due process" has been done...sometimes we don't have all the info as would have been presented to the courts...and sometimes the rule of law varies from country to country... in the end however, we would just hope that the best decision was reached.

Topics related to Mr. Fischer continue to be the most popular...and with his passing, one would imagine, more so...

The thing is, he didn't divorce her, unless you count dying as a form of divorce.
