Style? What style?I just try to play good chess.that's all
What superGM does YOUR style correspond with most?

I play like General George Armstrong Custer: I plunge heedlessly into dangerous enemy territory; attack, attack, attack; then find myself hopelessly surrounded by an opponent I had seriously underestimated.
Or maybe I play like Greg Louganis. Stand at the edge of the precipice, hold my breath, then jump and hope for the best.
No, wait, MY STYLE is that of Wile E. Coyote: I invest enormous amounts of time and energy in an elaborate plan that is GUARANTEED to destroy my opponent, only to have it completely blow up in my face at the last minute.

But remember the most imoprtant lesson The Coyote taught us. If at first your don't succeed, try, try again!

Me too. Still, at least if we were him we'd have the consolation that the very laws of physics had to be subverted to ensure our opponents' victories.
Actually, who I really play like is the Chicken Hawk: just keep attacking and act like you're in charge and maybe you can pull it off (even though your opponent is like 1000 times bigger than you are)...

I admire the style of players such as Capablanca, Smyslov, Rubinstein and Fischer. BUT to think that my play in any way resembles theirs would be really delusional. I'm interested in more mundane matters like improving my overall play and results, as well as in learning as much as I can.
I'm with you, except that my concerns are even more mundane. If I could just hold on to my pieces and pawns. . .
Interesting comment considering after nearly 200 games on this site you're scoring 88% I guess you lose most your games somewhere else :p

This is how I would describe my play. I simply try to make reasonable moves. I don't mind attacking if I think there's an attack. I don't mind trying for a bind if there's a bind. I don't mind defending if I have to defend. I don't mind sacrificing if it seems to help me... etc. I just try not to get confused / screw up my calculation. If you master the fundamentals I'd guess you're already close to master. Once/if I get there I'll see if I have a style yet.
I play like Sherlock Holmes when I am playing well. I crack the case with sneaky, acute observation.
When I play lousy I play like Sarah Palin. I think that all of my moves would shoot a moose. In reality I fire pea-shooters and my moves are gibberish nonsense.

It more appropiate to say whose style are you TRYING to learn and apply most. If that is the case, you must remove the FAN out of my nickname Or if you're talking about only living people, then my answer is Anish Giri and his "always sensing the correct square to go" style!

My style is like Botvinnik's. I consider a record of two draws and three loses proof of my incontestable superiority.

Who does he have this record against?
None. I can't play like any SGM, so I prefer my own flawed style.
