I was thinking recently about Martin's event chess and how events could work for chu shogi. So I came up with about 40 events so far, many of which are specifically designed for chu shogi. Let me know if either of you are interested in giving it a trial run.

Evert, I've noticed that you "igui" much more frequently than desirable. There have been multiple instances I've seen where there was clearly a better second square, where you instead took igui style. A lion's capture is an opportunity to improve its position.

It's not that I just like igui so much, it's just that I think that the current position is good, but you see a better one and I don't.

I resign now. Thank you for the game.
I had my chance for counterplay, but didn't use it. Now my position is very bad, many pieces are blocked by my own pieces.

Let's see. That diagram is at [#42]. I couldn't guarantee a win, but I would definitely have played it more accurately. When you've exchanged off a lion, any small mistakes become much worse.

I normally offer a [3-tempo handicap] (下手 1, 上手 2 (lion), 下手 3, 上手 4/6 jitto, 下手 5/7 (no lion/pawn), resume normally). I have also given the normal lion handicap, and variations thereof, but most people strategize terribly with two lions.
So, you can choose from the following options:
- a handicap game
- test out the swapping mechanic
- test out event chu shogi (now up to 50 events)

Thank you. I wouldn't have seen it
