Event Chess Game (acgusta2 - JustARandomPatzer)

Sort:
Martin0

This is an event chess game between @acgusta2 (white) and @JustARandomPatzer (black).

Rules:

This game will follow the correspondence rules posted here.

Time Control: 3 days/move

Timeout Warnings: 24 hours to make a move after a warning. Maximum 3 warnings. Refreshes every 40th move

Vacation Time: 14 days. Refreshes every 40th move.

Game starts like a normal chess game with 2 additional rules:

  1. Each player may once/game start an event during his turn before making a move (Just say "start event").
  2. A player may not capture more than 2 pieces that are not pawns before starting an event (This is to make sure both players need to start an event).

Note that each player starting one event means a game will become a combination of 2 events.

When an event starts it will be chosen randomly from over 100 events and consists of some sort of rule changes to the game. More about event chess can be read here.

Good luck!

I'm guessing this is on just a regular chess board?  If so then my first move is

Event #51 Monster Queen

Condition: Can not be started with a royal queen event. At least 1 queen for each player. Starting this event does not cause any player to be in check.

The queen can only move 1 square like a king, but it can move twice each turn. It is legal to leave your king in check after the first queen move, but not the second. If a queen has moved once, the second move is also mandatory (not optional).

Example 1:

White plays Qxe5, Qxe6#

It is checkmate since white is threatening Qe7, Qxe8 and there is no way for black to get out of check (Kf8 for example can be responded by Qf7, Qxf8).

Example 2:

White plays Qxd2, Qe2. White is allowed to put himself into check on the first queen move, but not the second move.

Example 3:

Here white can not play Qxe2, since there are no legal second queen move to get out of check.

Example 4:

If white captures the pawn with Qxd2, then white needs to also make a second queen move (Qc3)

Event #92 Capture the flag

Condition: None

Whenever a piece is moved to a square on the 8th rank that piece receives a flag. If that piece manages to return to the 1st rank, then that player wins like if the opponent was checkmated. You may not leave your king in check when winning with the flag. When a piece is holding a flag, no other piece of the same color can get a flag. When a piece holding the flag gets captured, a new flag can get grabbed on the 8th rank again.

Note: For black, he needs to reach white's 1st rank to receive the flag; and white's 8th rank to win with the flag.
Note 2: You can still win by checkmating your opponent.

Example 1:

1. Nb8 Whites knight moves to the last rank. The knight gets a flag 1... Re8 2. a8=Q Since white already has a piece holding a flag, the newly promoted queen does not get a flag 2... Re1 Blacks rook gets a flag 3. Nd7+ Re8 Blacks rook got to the first rank with the flag, black wins!

Example 2:

1. Ra3 Re1 Blacks rook receives a flag 2. Rh3+ Black wants to play Re8 here to win, but he can not. He is in check 2... Kg8 3. Rh8# Checkmate, white wins
