Event Chess Game (Chessisfunforme - kingsindianattack7)

Sort:
Martin0

This is an event chess game between @Chessisfunforme (white) and @kingsindianattack7 (black).

Rules:

This game will follow the correspondence rules posted here.

Time Control: 3 days/move

Timeout Warnings: 24 hours to make a move after a warning. Maximum 3 warnings. Refreshes every 40th move

Vacation Time: 14 days. Refreshes every 40th move.

Game starts like a normal chess game with 2 additional rules:

  1. Each player may once/game start an event during his turn before making a move (Just say "start event").
  2. A player may not capture more than 2 pieces that are not pawns before starting an event (This is to make sure both players need to start an event).

Note that each player starting one event means a game will become a combination of 2 events.

When an event starts it will be chosen randomly from over 100 events and consists of some sort of rule changes to the game. More about event chess can be read here.

Event #36 Portals

Pieces can move "through" allied bishops. The piece will move to an allied bishop and then continue in the same direction from another allied bishop.

Moving through the bishop does not count towards the maximum number of squares a piece can move (like a pawn moving 2 squares from second rank).

Pawns on the second rank can move 2 squares forward regardless if they have previously moved or not.

Note: All pieces, including kings and knights can move through allied bishops. The knight will move like an L-shape to the first bishop and then another L-shape in the same direction from the other bishop.

Example 1:

White plays Rxf8. Whites rook on c1 moves through the bishop on c3 and continue from the bishop on f3 and capture blacks rook on f8. When white moves through the bishop on c3 it can't continue towards blacks knight on c7 since it must continue from a different allied bishop.

Example 2:

Black can not move through whites bishops, since he can only move through allied bishops. Black captures whites bishop with Rxf3. Nothing special happens. White will no longer be able to move through bishops, since he only has 1 bishop left.

Example 3:

Whites knight can move through whites bishops. White plays Nxg5

Example 4:

Moving through a bishop does not count towards the maximum number of squares a pawn can travel, so the pawn on c2 moving to e5 only counts as moving 1 square (not 2). Whites pawn on c2 moving 2 squares forward would end up on e6. Whites pawn on e2 moving 2 squares forward would end up on c4.

Example 5:

White plays e8=Q (moving through whites bishops)

Black plays bxe7 (en passant, also moving through bishops)

Blacks pawn will be able to move 2 squares forward later since it is standing on the 7th rank (having moved does not matter).

Event #3 Save the king!

Switch places with the kings. A king is allowed to be left in check and cannot be checked/checkmated. A king can no longer capture pieces. If a player captures the enemy king, then instead of removing the king from the board the player that captured the king must place it on any empty square on the board. Whenever a king gets to that players first rank (1st rank for white, 8th rank for black), that players wins the game.

Example 1:

If this event gets started on move 1, this will be the position after the kings switch places. Note that both kings are allowed to be left in check and neither king is allowed to capture any pieces.

Example 2:

In this position white plays Rxe1 and chooses to put the black king on h1. Rxe1@h1

Black plays Qxe8 and chooses to put the white king on b8. Qxe8@b8

Example 3:

Black plays Kf8# since blacks king got back to the 8th rank, black wins.
