Bc4.5 is not legal. The bishop has to move along the diagonal.

Possible moves for the bishop on f1 are Bxa6, Bb5, Bbc4.5, Bc4, Bcd3.5, Bd3, Bde2.5 and Be2.

I hope this makes sense. It is a bit of a weird event.

Bad_Dobby_Fischer

i think this is going to be fun though, combined with the bumping

how can knights be between squares?

Martin0

They can't. Only bishops, rooks and queens gains the ability to stop between squares.

Bad_Dobby_Fischer

Q(f4-e4).5 +

gyrados06

isn't that legal?

Moving diagonally, a piece can be on 4 squares (e.g. Qef4.5). Moving orthogonally, a piece can be on 2 squares (e.g. Qef5 or Qd4.5). The move you propose (I assume you mean "Qef4.5+") is illegal, because it would overlap the knight. I don't want to influence the game with any more detailed comments.

^^^

also, the queen cannot occupy just 2 squares; it's 1 or 4

so Qf4.5 is not legal

Qef4.5 could be legal, but not here, because of the knight

And, you have to move our queen now, right?

dax00

No reason why a queen can't occupy 2 squares. A queen can move like a rook, and a rook can occupy 2 squares. Therefore a queen can occupy 2 squares. Nowhere in the event info did it forbid queen occupation of multiple squares when moving orthogonally. Qbc6 is legal here (I only use that example because nobody would ever play it)

I have so many comments about the actual moves x.x *lips shut*

Martin0

@dax00 is correct

yeah you're right, i was thinking that a queen can't occupy two squares when moving diagonally
