To what extent has Chess960 fulfilled its design objective of reducing the importance of memorization of openings? Do the top players still memorize?
I have not heard of any players memorizing opening theory for chess960.
For the high level chess960 OTB tournaments, the players get 10-15 minutes before a round starts to think about the initial position.
