Martin0 vs the world - Event Chess Game #2

Sort:
Martin0

This is an event chess game with the world (white) against @Martin0 (black). It's a rematch after @Martin0 won the first game.

Anyone can join the world team and participate in the discussion here:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-variants/martin0-vs-the-world-world-analysis-thread

Rules:

Event chess starts like a normal chess game with 2 additional rules:

  1. Each player may once/game start an event during his turn before making a move (Just say "start event").
  2. A player may not capture more than 2 pieces that are not pawns before starting an event (This is to make sure both players need to start an event).

Note that each player starting one event means a game will become a combination of 2 events.

When an event starts it will be chosen randomly from over 100 events and consists of some sort of rule changes to the game. More about event chess can be read here.

Special game rules:

There will be 2 forums for this game. In this forum I will post the rules, the moves will be made and people can ask rule questions to me. The second forum will be used for everyone else to discuss the ongoing game. I will not look at the discussion forum while the game is in progress. When the world have agreed to a move, then @rychessmaster1 will submit the move in this forum. I will not accept submitted moves by other players, unless ry has explicitly stated that member can submit moves in his place.

Time control for me is 3 days/move.

Time control for the world is 4 days/move. 3 days are meant for deciding the move, while the last day is for submitting the move. If there is a disagreement, the move with the most votes should get played.

If I do not make a move within 3 days anyone can call a timeout warning to me and if I don't make a move within 24 hours, I will lose on time.

If the world does not make a move within 4 days I can call a timeout warning. If ry does not make a move within 24 hours, then I will win on time.

I have 14 days of vacation time that I can use.

The world does not get any vacation time (if ry goes on vacation, he should tell someone else to submit moves instead).

Good luck!

@rychessmaster1, can you create a new analysis forum for the world?

Martin0

Correct, the world is white.

Ok, will read the rules, get up to speed, and try not to be obtuse.

Event #37 Queenbuilder

As a move a bishop can move on top of an allied rook with its normal movement. Only 1 bishop can stand on top of 1 rook.

When a bishop is standing on top of a rook, then the rook and bishop can move together like a queen as a move.

If the rook becomes captured while a bishop is standing on top of it, then the bishop will also get captured.

As a move, a bishop can move off the rook with its normal movement. However the rook can not move without also moving the bishop.

A rook can be a part of castling, even if it has a bishop on top of it. The bishop will remain on top of the rook.

Note: A bishop can not move over allied rooks, it must stop on top of the rook.

Note 2: Only bishops can move to allied rooks, rooks can not move to allied bishops.

Example 1:

Whites bishop can not move inside the white rook (since it needs to move like a bishop when doing so).

Example 2:

White plays Bg2 (so now the bishop is on top of the rook).

Now white can either move both the rook and bishop like a queen (like RBa2 or RBa8) or white can move the bishop out of the rook.

Example 3:

White plays Bxb7

Example 4:

White plays 0-0

Event #109 Pawn Grabbers

If it is a legal move to capture a pawn and there are no legal moves for the opponent to capture the piece that captured that pawn on the next move, then it is required to make a capturing move.

Note 1: The rule is almost the same as a capture being required when you can capture an unprotected pawn, but not quite. There are exceptions, such as discovered attacks ignoring defenders and the king not being allowed to put itself into check (while the king would normally count as a defender).

Note 2: A capturing move being required means you can make any capturing move you want.
