It would be great if some of the variants (King of the Hill or 3-Check, for example) were in the mobile app, at least the iPad version. I play chess mostly on my iPad and I’m getting bored with just standard and Chess960.

I'm sure chess.com would like to add those things but there are other things that need to get done first.

In the meantime, you could try puzzle rush or take lessons from Dr. Wolf.

I’ve been looking for instructions on how to play variants on the mobile app. Shame that I can’t play on my phone :(

They aren't on the apps.

But you can use a mobile browser to play some of the simple ones. Try the Chrome browser and log in to chess.com.
