Bump.

The drop Ka1 feels artificial, rapid deployment is not always the best option.

In addition the last slow pawn is deployed meaning that the player will lose the right to perform a king transfer when the rook at the end of the game queue is deployed to the game board.

Take care of the centre first and then think about the A file pawn.

Long term perhaps just a bog standard pawn drop to a2 avoids having a unit on a corner square.

Long term consider Ra1 for the second rook followed by a2-a4 to initiate rapid pawn play on that flank.

Deploying a Bishop very early to a corner square is not the most flexible option.

The Bishops can not capture the pawns in the corners because the attacking player is not fully deployed.

Create holes for king transfers during setup.

The red markers indicate the squares for transfers.

I said that I was taking a break but I was thinking about speeding up the game today.

It occurred to me that it is possible to use the "trap door" trick on the players second rank as well.

Rooks however can only be deployed to a players 1st rank to avoid rapid doubling of the Rooks on a file, this is similar to a rule in Burmese Chess.

In the first diagram below white plays Bg2 deploying the Bishop in front of a Pawn.

Then as part of the same move the pawn on g1 jumps over the bishop and lands on g3.

When deploying to the 2nd Rank a Pawn must be behind the Unit and an empty square in front of the unit.

Rooks are not allowed to do this trick.
