Picking up a king and dropping it back down on exactly the same square is not a legal drop.

The king must change files, must remain on the players 1st rank and must always land one file away from the edge of the game board.

The only legal squares for a king transfer are:

White: b1 + g1

Black: b8 + g8

Why single drop with a spite check when you can double drop without check but gain a tempo.

A double drop in one move deploys a unit and also throws a pawn forwards on the game board.

Bc2 is an example double drop, the bishop is deployed in front of the pawn and then as part of the same move the pawn gets thrown forwards as a pawn drop to c3.

All the units, majors and minors, can be deployed to a players 1st rank.

Only the minor units, bishops and knights, can be deployed to a players 2nd rank.

The bishops must always be deployed to opposite coloured squares.

This rule still applies even when the players 1st bishop has been traded before the 2nd bishop has been deployed to the game board.

Why double drop to block the spite check when...

The black king will be exposed on the dark squares after the bishops are traded, and

The black king will be exposed on that flank because the king was moved and black has now lost the right to transfer the king to the other side of the game board.

Note that the right to perform a king transfer is also lost when a player is fully deployed.
