Actually, the witch goes down in value as pieces are traded. Once all pieces except Kings and Pawns are traded, witches become functionally useless.

A Witch goes down in value once you lose or trade Bishops, Rooks and Queens.
I once had an almost useless Witch in an endgame. She was still able to block a pawn on the loose running for Queen.

What do you guys say the witch is worth? I’d say around a rook (5) in a middlegame.
