I do want to play Martin at infinite. I respect that he says he's not ready and I'll patiently wait for his arrival, but I can hardly consider myself the best at infinite, even if I beat Nav, since I've lost so convincingly to Martin in bulldog.  I guess I'd be happy to beat Nav and have a year or so as the champion before Martin brings me back down to earth.

I'll probably challenge Martin at bulldog again next year. I need to analyse openings instead of walking blindly into them, and I need better analysis tools than musketeer (I think Nav may have solved that problem). That will help improve my game somewhat, hopefully I can get to a middlegame vs him!

If you win against Naviary, then you're the WC. People who don't play cannot be a World Champion.

Martin is the champ at bulldog. Being the best at both would be like getting a gold medal in both Snowboarding and Skiing.tongue.png

I'm in a game against Ry now, and if I win against him I might make a stab for playing against the WC sometime in the future. But I already admit that I suck at bulldog (compared to you guys).meh.png

Also, there's enough players now that I don't think anyone can just issue a challenge. There might be a qualifying system, but I have to go to the (club) to ask about that.

I think skillsets transfers a lot more between chess and chess variants compared to skiing and snowboarding.

This said it might take a long time before I get into infinite chess. When I learn a new variant I like to think a lot about that variant and try to get better at it. That does not work too well if I try to learn too many variants at the same time. I'm intending to become more active in 4-player chess and I want to promote my event chess variant a bit more. Then I'm unsure if I want to focus on chess and go (I'm not a very good go player though). Those are games I already play, but when it comes to new games I am not sure if I am more interested in infinite chess, musketeer chess or a completely different game like shogi.

All in all, I am interested in trying out infinite chess eventually, but I have no plans in doing so in the near future. I'm not the kind of guy that can play just 1 game, but rather if I start something I want to get hooked into it.
