Top Players!!

Sort:
JohnHS

Can't wait to watch that!  Suggestion, martin0, you may just want to include the top ten players.  That chart is getting very cluttered.  Lots of people playing bulldog now!

hitthepin
If we do, we should only include active players.
Junebug444

Alright! According to the scoresheet, I'm the second highest rated in bulldog w/witch. I guess this means all I have to do is take down Martin0 to regain my spot as bulldog champ, but that's definitely no easy feat considering Martin0 has never lost!

Junebug444

Though I'm not sure if my recent win against JohnHS was added. I'm sure that would have boosted my rating even more; John seems like quite a formidable opponent based on his previous victories.

The result with JohnHS is there wink.png

I'll probably split the graph into groups of 10. So one graph for top 10 players, then 11-20, then 21-30 and so on.

I'm also thinking of only including active players, which I'm thinking is defined as having completed a rated game the last 6 months.

And yes, I will accept Junebugs challenge and it will be with the witch.

Sweet! Looking forward grin.png

How long has bulldog been around?

If anyone wants to check the history of bulldog chess, you can check this thread: (bulldog chess theory and comments).

That can still be used if anyone wants to discuss inventing new pieces and so forth (but just for bulldog).happy.png

I'm glad you guys are managing the top-level challenges for the bulldog crown.

There seems to be more games being played now than ever before, which means the best players have gained better credibility at being top performers. This is a niche in the chess-world which is still untouched by opening books and chess-playing engines. It's just human vs. human. So cool to see these games going on!

Due to more players entering the scene, I plan to make some ammendments on the qualifications to issue a challenge to the world champion. They will become effective prior to the conclusion of the "Junebug444 vs Martin0" challenge.

The main purpose for the tougher eligibility is to give more "protection" to the champ. A person who has attained "World Champion" title should have some defense against a large mass of new players, who are rising up and attempting to challenge him (or her).

For anyone interested, please stay up-to-date at this thread.happy.png

Lastly, are both @Junebug444, and @Martin0, OK for this challenge game, for the bulldog

gold.pngWorld-Champion Crowngold.png to be started on Wednesday, March 21?

Martin0

Starting on Wednesday is ok happy.png

Junebug444

Yup. Sounds good!

JohnHS

Awesome!  By the way, Junebug, I used to be formidible, but then I started hanging pieces randomly ... meh.png

What are the requirements needed to challenge the champ? All I know is that you have to do something to challenge him.
JohnHS

You have to beat someone who has won a game previously.  Though i think those requirements are probably going to change.  Atm, only the winners of major matches have been challenging.

Waredude
So, that would mean that III could challenge him? Cuz I beat aidanb1 and tomato. Or does it have to be in a tournament? Not that I want to challenge him yet! I need a lot more practice!!
JohnHS

I suppose you could technically challenge him.  I think we need a new system though.  (btw, he is going to play a championship already).  Does anyone have thoughts?  It seems too easy to qualify for a Championship challenge.

hitthepin
True. Didn’t vickalan say he was developing a new system to challenge the champion?
Waredude
Sounds good to me. I need to learn more about bulldog tactics, strategy, positional play, etc... Before I even consider the notion!!! Btw when is the next bulldog tournament?
JohnHS

No idea.
