How To Get More Members in Clubs??

Has anyone wondered how do people get so many members in a short period of time? Or is it just me? It's like a situation, where no one helps you but only makes fun of you. Has anyone experienced this? Or is it just me, again? Has anyone ever looked at other clubs and thought that your own club is failing? Or is it just me, AGAIN?

Hi, I am Emi M, Owner of Trust League of Chess, Admin of Animal Appreciation Club, and Super Admin of We Fight For Palestine. I always see so many clubs filled with people, and send them a link to join my club. No one joins. Weird right, only like 1 or 2. Weird for a high population of members. I don't have friends irl and want to make them on chess.com where we can talk about chess and most likely will have stuff we like in common. Does anyone have any advice? Or will I just sit here hearing nothing? Will I be ignored? That's a question that will answer itself once I hit the post button. I'll sleep through the night waking up most probably finding nothing. Well clubs are business to me and also drama. I like to joke but people have to understand me. I'm different and sometimes. I want people to be active, I wanna own a club with members.

Now you understand why I really care about clubs, or do you? I go by a way many people could go by. I don't say "Work hard and achieve it all" I say "Work smart and share it all" I wanna share my chess journey with others, celebrating every moment. So give me advice to make my club bigger, and etc. This is just a short quick post.

(Also if you see this, friend me plz, I ran out of friend requests, lol) and make sure to send advice on growing a bigger club.

make sure the club with lots of people are active, and to make friends, just play some chess matches and talk in clubs and you'll probably get some good ones

This is one way. Also, have inviters set. AAC had some good inviters, which got them pretty high. Fun forums is another way to keep people active in your club.

Why set up your own clubs? Why not find an existing club and join that instead?

You don't own a club if you join it. It feels different to join and make a club.

So it’s about the power rather than the participation - I wouldn’t want to join one of your clubs either…

I am sorry to hear that you feel this way. Not. However, I intend to create a club on chess.com to encourage a community of passionate chess lovers who can come together to enjoy the game. I believe everyone should be able to participate and contribute their unique skills and knowledge to the club. If you ever change your mind, you can join us.

Ok it is the same problem as my club

You don’t think there’s an existing club with exactly that vision?

Yes

If you're inviting people and they aren't joining, there are two potential reasons from that.

Either:

-They aren't interested in your club

or

-Their account is inactive.

To solve the latter, don't invite inactive accounts. You can sort members by most recently active (in clubs) or most recently online; or look at their history to see how recently they've done stuff.

The former can be solved my making your club more interesting, with unique aspects over other clubs that will make people want to join.

But you also might want to invite people to whom your club most appeals. Someone with an animal-based username or profile picture is more likely to join an animal appreciation club. Someone with a Palestinian flag is more likely to join a 'free Palestine' club. etc. etc.

It kind of sounds like you are inviting random members of random large clubs; and most of those won't be interested in the niche topics your clubs are designed around.

Also I saw this:

"I don't have friends IRL and want to make them on chess.com".

chess.com is not a substitute for in-person interactions. If you want friends, start or join an IRL club, not a chess.com one.

Host engaging events, open houses, and informational sessions to attract interest and provide a firsthand experience of what your club offers. Collaborate with other organizations or clubs to expand your reach and leverage their networks.

My point still applies in this case.

Invite inactive or uninterested people to these events and they are much less likely to join.

Also why did you edit a random link into my quote.
