For all you chess players who want to improve, and play more slow games.........This is the place! Chien (fhunfi) does a masterful job here, setting up and coordinating all these games....all on a volunteer basis. He is to be commended for all this extra work. I really enjoy the slow games......it gives me a chance to learn, do my best, and then analyze afterward. Chess is a game where you win, or you learn. Chien gives us a chance to do both. Swiss 45m+45 is to change the pace from the regular Swiss 90m+30s, as the respond to request from some members who can't afford to spend 3-4 hours to play 90m+30s game.

Thank you so much for promoting and implementing this classical format. Relocated, due to retirement, far away from any major chess centers, commuting to OTB events is no longer a practical option. This makes it possible without having to navigate travel, traffic, or hotels.

Thanks again, fhunfi, for organising these various tournaments. It's a great service to the community appriciated by many.

@Fhunfi Thank you for running great tournaments with slower time controls akin to Classical. In my case, I don't have the stamina for four rounds of back-to-back chess in an OTB chess tournament. Also, finding opponents who play these slow time controls online is more difficult. This is a fantastic solution! Thank you!

This club is very good for people who like slow time controls, because this is one of the only clubs that do tournaments that have longer time controls than 10 min!

This club is a great place for practice games! It helps me focused on classical chess in between tournaments.

Thanks a bunch for all your support - I will try my best to keep it steadily and moving forward for some improvement in future.

FYI: Currently the 90m+30s club has more than 300 members. The active members (participation rate) for each tourney is 25%. Be assured that it has been and will always be conducted with passion, commitment, and love for our royal game by TD (Tournament Director) that has long experience in organizing OTB tourneys and online tourneys at all leading online-chess platforms.

Some day every chess player reach the age when one realize that it is impossible to be better player all the time. I have reached that Grandpa age - 72 - but still want to meet an opponent over the board in a hard fighting game. The real bonus for me from these tournaments arranged by fhunfi (Chien) is that games one find here is guarateed to get a peaceful and apprecated environment from Chien and interesting opponents.
