Congratulations Erik and staff!!
In my opinion, it is due to a number of factors, but at least includes the following:
- You have a personality that is welcoming; most of us (well ok at least me anyway) would have more of a temper and would have been very irritated with rude, ignorant complaints. You have been very tolerant and open to advice no matter how the advice came.
- A combination of both wisdom in dealing with people and controversy, as well as the ability to attract top technical talent and people with great people skills such as Kohai.
- Probably the best URL./chess.com ; I really wouldn't want to have to type in something else.
- Persistence and I'm sure a lot of hard work and planning behind the scenes.
- I have tried (unsuccessfully but oh well) to build my own business but after a few short months I am now back to looking for a job in the 'regular' job market.
- Anyway, thanks for you and your staffs great work, I love the site!
If someone would have told me when we started Chess.com that we would ever have 2.5 million registered members, I would have laughed a hearty, scoffing laugh.
But there you have it - 2.5 million members in 3.5 years time. Unbelievable!
