Originally, I thought chess.com moderators were volunteers. You get paid? You have to work long hours?

Read the very last line of the original post.

Are there any time commitments I'd need to make?

No. We ask that all moderators do an amount of work which they're comfortable with.

AbyssalSludge

Moderators are unpaid. This is a joke forum.

Six_Pack_Of_Flabs

I find it so funny to imagine people reading this post from 2018 and their brows furrowing as they try to understand what's said from a serious standpoint. They must be so confused tongue

MGleason

It's about as true now as it was then.

MGleason

The workload is what you are able to manage and want to spend time on. Moderators are volunteers who help out here and there in their free time.

It is as legit as the [Removed - Staff] government.

Please do not do fake moderator edits.

But seriously, is it prohibited to talk about deceased governmental politics?

History is OK, so long as it's reasonably on topic. It doesn't usually generate the heated opinions current political issues do.

Usually. There are exceptions, but they are the exception.
