A "problem" with tournement

I do not know if this question was already noted and discussed, unfortunatly I have few time to follow forums, excuse me if it is the case. 

I'm directing the "gruppo italiano" tournment. The first phase is quite completed: as you can see (at the moment) in the pairings page all the rounds are finished except the number 3 where a player is in vacation. This round has in any case a clear winner. The only remaining games are totally irrilevant for the final result, so I am wondering (and other partecipants too) why to wait for this games to complete before to start the next phase.

Maybe because the result of these games have influence on the final tie-break result of the group winner? Or there are technical reason? Or...?

I think that should be possible to start (manually or automatically) the next tournment phase without to wait for irrilevant games.

there are a few problems with forwarding on tournaments before all games are finished, but the biggest is that it is technically REALLY hard. when do you start doing the math? and then there are SO many potential iterations depending on how many games are left. and jay and i have found that usually it won't save more than 1 week time.

I supposed that the main reason was technical.

Thanks in any case, it's only a little bit disappointing to see a tournement blocked by irrilevant games... especially when the round has a clear winner and the games are blocked by a player in vacation.

I recognize this is an old post but I agree that it is a bit anticlimactic (boring) to hold up the advancing games for matches that have no bearing win or lose on the advancement rounds. It would be nice to give the tournament manager more control once the tournament starts.

I've only just started experimenting with the tournament feature so if this has changed and I don't see it then I apologize for my ignorance in advance.
