send an opponent that says this , the link to cc cheat detection , and then wish them good luck and good chess in their future games

Rest assured, you won't lose your account on some random accusation by this guy.

Something like that happened to me recently. I paused playing chess for some years and only came back recently. So I've lost a game to some guy and in the rematch I played much better because I got into it again, revived my previous knowledge of chess. He accused me of using an engine because of this improvement in my second game.

I just laughed and took it as a compliment to my game play.

Hahaha

“I don't mean to out anybody or spread negativity” - OP (sirmadalot) …. Let the Doublespeak begin !
misleads
distorts reality
Pretends to communicate
makes the bad seem good
avoids or shifts responsibility
makes the negative appear positive
creates a false verbal map of the world
limits, conceals, corrupts, and prevents thought
makes the unpleasant appear attractive or tolerable
creates incongruity between reality and what is said or not said

Geez - the obvious hypocrisy insults any intelligence.

Calm down, Shakespeare! This is literally a chess website, the man's just trying to be nice, cut him a break! (That's assuming op is a man, i have a tendency to call people man and then refer to them as men)

Obviously wasn’t cheating. He just played real bad

depends on which warrior code i reckon mr mudd , some will charge headlong in not caring about such silly things like trying to stay alive because they embrace a fighters death , whereas others sit back behind a piece of artillery hoping not to get flanked by cavalry

"...but this individual seriously offended me."

So you're "seriously offended" over an accusation from someone you don't know, regarding something you didn't do?

StormCentre3

Quite pathetic. We’ve all been there … seen and experienced bad sports. It goes with the territory. With the influx of new younger players and the anonymity the internet provides- sure… such situations occur more frequently.

What’s rather pathetic- on top of this are these typical threads- “ I don’t mean to be negative nor to bad mouth”  But let me tell of a really poor sport who treated me unfairly ! A serious offense. I’m offended ! 😵‍💫

Obviously it’s about negative attention seeking … about themselves “how dare someone treat me in such a manner”.
Repeating stories about poor sportsmanship is being negative. Plain and simple. To be positive would entail suggestions on how to avoid or ignore bad behaviors. Instead we saw the OP exacerbate the situation with further argument and name calling.

chesshypermaster

This happens all the time. Say i beat someone and they report me for cheating. I will not get banned.

chess is a battle of wills and mind , its very easy to get emotionally involved , and take it to heart when challenged thisway though storm centre , you and me know the best way is to go ok move on play another game v someone else and forget it , but thats learned through hard experience ,

if this is the first time the op has faced this in chess its easy to see why they come out fighting to defend their honour

StormCentre3

Too funny- these kids labeling myself  “a well known troll”.. after their bad behaviors are exposed. As if this justifies their lack of respect for our hobby. From time to time such sandbox antics need pointing out- a reminder not everyone, especially seasoned players appreciate the negativity and lack of respect.

tomfinney123

flamewars solve little , they do however cause alot of friction , and yet all it needs to douse the fire is to give the benefit of the doubt . storm makes valid points too , this is a common thread thing , however im willing to give op benefit of the doubt ie this is something that they have never experienced before , or often ,

can we just agree that ?

Do you mean the hobby of you playing with yourself? You're too old to be in the sandbox so people will readily call you out for the creep that you are.

I do not respond to Mudd. Personal issues there. He’s very young. The last post tells us all we need to know. End of story.

tomfinney123

so op , this happens in internet chess , as has been said , and i hope that you are better armed to deal with it if it happens again

theres a few options to choose from in the posts , use the one that suits you best ,

gmdsg

woah there, mud that’s offensive. chess is for all ages, and I think stormcentre3 is doing the right thing. sirmadalot, you are doing the right thing, you should ignore or block, and if you want report them, it is not you they will mute, ban, suspend. it will be the people who tried to report you for no reasonable reason who they will mute, ban, or suspend.

It is clear that English is not the mother tongue of the OP.  Picking on a single expression out of context is a really bad behaviour of yours.

LazyDog24

He's new to the community like he said in the OP. He doesn't know how to deal with this type of stuff yet. Instead of slandering him, let's actually explain things and encourage him to continue to be in this community. The amount of hate in this thread is appalling. Grow up

StormCentre3

The obvious solution is to play in Zen mode or chat with friends only.
Why be chatting- about anything during fast games? Messages can be sent post game with perhaps responding to positive ones and ignoring negative ones - which happens all to frequently.

Out of context?

The OP is claiming to be "seriously offended" over an accusation from someone they don't know, regarding something they didn't do.

How is that out of context?
