how is it that this topic-against site rules of naming and shaming-gets so many posts from mods and staff when help and support topics receive so little feedback?
the op, by erik, is an attempt to shame one. no doubt deserved, but, members are not allowed to do it. as this topic has moved on i am dismayed by the posts from mods and staff here that seem to ignore the issues on this site while posting about this singular incident.
consider that the edit and quote functions were not working for about two days. any posts from staff about that? many site issues have been put forth by members, and, they are ignored.

@erik's the CEO - if he thinks an exception can be made to the site's usual policies in a specific instance, no-one's going to argue with him. I don't see why that's surprising.

You need to separate the functions of the moderators and staff here - the mods help apply the site's policies and are mostly volunteers - it's not really their responsibility to answer questions, even though they sometimes do. They don't have any greater insight into what's going on at the development level than ordinary members, and so can't answer those sorts of questions anyway.
The Support team are the staff members who answer enquiries - their primary contact channel is through the "Contact" button reached from the Help --> Ask a Question / Report Abuse / Billing Issues etc. I'm not sure how regularly they hang out in the forums, it's why genuine issues really should be reported by that method. By all means ask about it in the forums: it's often helpful to know if other people have experienced the same problem - but in terms of getting it actioned, a forum thread isn't the most reliable way to bring it to the attention of those who can actually do something about it.
Reporting one issue at a time, with specific examples, is the most helpful way of doing this: putting multiple issues into the one report increases the risk that one of those is going to get lost somewhere along the way, as other issues get resolved.
LOL ~ E on point!
