Who came up with that name?  Nobody wants to be teabagged.

Originally, when the Tea Party thing was new in 2009, the Fox News people were using that term repeatedly without realizing it had another meaning.  To hype up that first anti-tax rally, they were using phrases like "let's all go teabagging."  "Change is coming in the form of a teabag."  etc.  The Daily Show and other nightly comedians showed clips (I'm remembering montages of at least a half-dozen different on-air people using that term) of how ridiculous it was that no one there knew this term had another meaning and might have been a bad idea.  It went on for a few weeks (or longer) before someone over there finally got wind of the ridicule they were getting over it.   So, technically, they came up with that name all by themselves.

Interesting. I had no idea until these comments prompted me to google it.

Oh, wow!  That's hillarious.

It's like they inadvertently tea-bagged themselves!

(An impressive feat in its own right)

I never thought it was possible to fail at having someone do something for you.

OK I write peom, but is very hard Mr. quarki because you have name that is hard to rhyme!

there once was a boy name oinquarki

and everyone say he is snarky

he wish he was not young

but some old guys are dumb

and Ringo Starr's name is Rich Starkey

OK, I know that dont make sense but like I say is not easy to rhyme this way!  And Im sorry I call you snarky, I dont even know what it mean, it was only to make peom, I am so sorry.  I have to use my poetic lisense.

Thank you very much, Mr. dog!  You are very nice too.  And I am sorry you not get along so good with Mr. kuggie, I do not know what his name is now he change it so much! But I think maybe he was just in crazy mood that day, maybe he find his dads Matuse like I did one time and it make him act wild, like I also did another time with angel dust.  Growing up is hard, especially when it is like you are in tv movie!

Sorry to revive the thread, but I missed this post earlier.

The way it works is a moderator or someone sees a member make a stupid post, (bold text, large text, caps being a good tip-off), usually one that demonstrates an obvious lack of basic understanding of reality or humor, insults, high regard for oneself, etc. Then they look at their other posts and see if that person has made any other stupid posts like that, or posted any spam threads, asked stupid question, made stupid requests/complaints, etc. If so, then it's a safe bet the member in question is a child. Birth certificates would be irrelevant because they don't show mental age. Thus, it would be impossible for someone to lie about their age.
