All those threads will be lost in time, like tears in rain

Dear V2, supporters, I am afraid I might have betrayed you. I used to like going back and forth from V2 to V3, getting the higher speed and obviously better forum layout V2 enjoys and the new features added in V3. However, the new appearance of the site  finally grew on me and the speed issues were seemingly solved, so I recently switched completely to the new version and never looked back. Until now.

Today I found a nasty surprise: my oldest threads could not be seen from my home page. A fast check confirmed that it happened to all profile pages.  Of course they are still available by searching for them manually, but that is unnecessarily complex and of course requires remembering the titles.

I was terrified by this loss, and worried about the new generations. Never before had mankind lost so much nonsense at once. In some years, users will complain about the horrible state of the forums and my threads won't be in my profile page to remind them that it has always been like that.

I guess this is some sort of punishment for switching to the new version. Maybe, just like Rome, V3 doesn't pay traitors.

ArgoNavis

And this thread just took the place of an older one.

It really makes no sense that V3 hides our own threads and at the same time it gives easy access to our entire game archive. Are some features worsened to balanced the improved ones?

That's disgusting! It's almost as if the site thinks threads are there for useful discussion at the time, rather than works of art for users to promote self-popularity.

That's quite terrible, I would say, in all seriousness. The site should not regulate these subjective things, only enforce the ToS.

Of course, the threads should stay, the bottom line.

@ kingofshedingas:

Not sure i understand -- when was you oldest thread created?

I can see all the way back to one you created over a year ago on your v3 profile page...

FM_Checkmate

Yes, and today is May 21, and king joined on Feb. 24, 2016. It still doesn't show all of the threads that were created by somebody, unless they only made a few, or just didn't make any at all.

My oldest thread was deleted because of a mistake by our beloved mods...but my second thread is still alive (although it does not make me really proud):

That reminds me of my personal favourite (and also a homage to the duck):

It's "like tears, in rain"...there's no "the" in the subject line quote.

Thanks for the correction.

DiogenesDue

No problem, it's a very iconic quote.

FM_Checkmate
