Ask your GM Chesscoach

Hello GM! First of all I want to appericiate your openness towards the community. One question I'd be willing to ask is, that is Chess itself a good career in life? Meaning, pursuing chess as your go-to for life is a good choice? Does Chess pay well for you (considering if you've won tournaments). And lastly, do you have any regrets regarding Chess and what you could've done better?
I was just wondering if I should focus on increasing my rapid rating rather than my bullet or blitz rating

if you are 2000+, rapid is infested with cheaters. Try playing in untitled tuesday instead

How many books should I read, or what book is good, to have a adequate defense against a master ?
Modern chess openings. search up the PDF version and there should be a free version. hint of advice though. Don't try memorizing every line of a opening. Find the theory of the opening. Like for example the English opening has a lot of good it its a long chapter so just find what's its theory is. I personally like the English opening because most people ain't familiar with it and like Evan's gambit, it prevents the blacks d7 pawn to advance to d5. Btw if you look at my elo it is low but this is an alt scout so I get free lessons and reviews😁

Hello Shaurya_Pers, happy to help. Assuming you mean professional Chess as in playing tournaments mostly. Depending on the tournaments you play and where you live then chess can be a pleasant work-life. In the Netherlands, with just playing tournaments, it is kind of normal to take 2600 as the cut-off point for a sustainable life.
One of my regrets is not having a coach when I was 2400-rated and higher. It could have been the push I needed to jump over 2600.

In general, rapid is more educational as it is more about thinking then intuition. So, if you want to become good at chess, then rapid is the way to go.

What should i primarily do in middle games?
Always looks for tricks and tactics first of all. After that, look for positional targets and improvements.
How do i make myself less stressed during OTB games? What is the difference between 1500 fide and 1900 fide? What is the difference between 2000 fide and 2500 fide? How did you get your GM norms? Do you HAVE to travel countries away for a Fide title?
