Blocking Members Manifesto

Blowhard contest? Compared to my post, 913Glorax12 posts are like soundbites, the type of thing you might see in a Mitt Romney campaign slogan, right next to "We built that".

Glorax's Manichaean mode of thought makes him incapable of stringing together a creative response, but to instead put together a barely cohesive, illaudible rant that not even his cronies or his various terrorist organizations would care to read, much less follow or attempt to understand beyond just amusing themselves with his weak solecistic efforts at intellectual abberancy and megalomaniacal, baleful, demonically egoistic and yet pale attempts at forming an insult that a 3 year old could effortlessly best.

stop barfing and shitting all over this stupid thread.

If you dont want to block me, then you dont want to block anyone.

Ubik42

I've written many posts about iLikeFlags's lamebrained obiter dicta. Maybe it's wrong to fixate so much on this one topic, but I assure you that my arguments are not wrong. I urge you to read the text that follows carefully, keeping an open mind, from the beginning to the end, and without skipping around. I further recommend that you take breaks, as many of the facts presented will take time to digest. Now there will, no doubt, be foul-mouthed gaberlunzies out there who will ask, "So what if iLikeFlags's collaborators, who are legion, instill a subconscious feeling of guilt in those of us who disagree with iLikeFlags's intimations? That won't affect me." Such crippled thinking is the best example there is as to why one of iLikeFlags's favorite tricks is to create a problem, then offer the solution. Naturally, it's always his solutions that grant him the freedom to lock people up for reading the "wrong" classes of books or listening to the "wrong" sorts of music, or writing the "wrong" sorts of posts, never the original problem.

As I make no claim to be an authority on the subject, I defer to the judgments of an Oxford University professor, who has observed that there's something fishy about iLikeFlags's bruta fulmina. I think he's up to something, something lickerish and perhaps even pretentious. ILikeFlags's metanarratives are in conflict with accepted morality. That concept can be extended, mutatis mutandis, to the way that his inclinations will have consequences—very serious consequences. We ought to begin doing something about that. We ought to identify, challenge, defy, disrupt, and, finally, destroy the institutions that carry our once-proud nation deeper into savagery and depravity. We ought to spread the word that one of his allies once said, "ILikeFlags is omnipotent." Now that's pretty funny, of course, but I didn't include that quote just to make you laugh. I included it to convince you that iLikeFlags maintains that sin is good for the soul. That's not just a lie but is actually the exact opposite of the truth—and iLikeFlags knows it. Why is iLikeFlags deliberately turning the truth on its head like that? It is bootless to speculate on the matter, but it should be noted that iLikeFlags's convictions can be subtle. They can be so subtle that many people never realize they're being influenced by them. That's why we must proactively notify humanity that it seems that no one else is telling you that the daffy nature of iLikeFlags's harangues distracts us from the real lessons we could learn from a rigorous critique of his criticisms. So, since the burden lies with me to tell you that, I suppose I should say a few words on the subject. To begin with, we must undoubtedly promote peace, prosperity, and quality of life, both here and abroad. Does that sound extremist? Is it too fatuous for you? I'm sorry if it seems that way, but that's life.

Although the Battle of Waterloo may have been won on the playing fields of Eton I nevertheless suspect that if I had my druthers, iLikeFlags would never have had the opportunity to create anomie. As it stands, iLikeFlags is inherently insane, doolally, and intrusive. Oh, and he also has a crafty mode of existence. His licentious declamations can be quite educational. By studying them, students can observe firsthand the consequences of having a mind consumed with paranoia, fear, hatred, and ignorance. Anyone who has spent much time wading through the pious, obscurantist, jargon-filled cant that now passes for "advanced" thought in the humanities already knows that the online disinhibition effect perfectly explains why iLikeFlags is so keen to tell everyone that his politics provide a liberating insight into life, the universe, and everything. What may be news, however, is that we must overcome the fears that beset us every day of our lives. We must overcome the fear that iLikeFlags will launch a salvo of prolix, inconsiderate memoirs against the somber, oppressed masses. And to overcome these fears, we must serve on the side of Truth. I have just enough stomach left to address one last instance of iLikeFlags's vindictive imbecility: He sincerely believes that it is better that a hundred thousand people should perish than that he should be even slightly inconvenienced.

Unless that player has himself blocked more than 200 players.

Also, you should not be able to block anyone who has blocked you. it is important that one-way communications are still maintained.

Ubik42 you make some good points, maybe you'll appreciate the following:

According to Yagyu Munenori,

"In ancient times it was said,

Weapons are instruments of ill omen.  The Way of Heaven finds them repugnant.  The Way of Heaven is to use them only when necessary....

The reason for this is that the Way of Heaven is a Way that brings life....

Nevertheless it goes to say that using weapons and killing people when this cannot be avoided is also the Way of Heaven.  If you would ask what this means, it is that flowers bloom and greenery accompanies them in the spring breezes, but the leaves fall and trees wither when autumn frosts arrive.  This is the judgement of the Way of Heaven.

There is a reason in striking down something that is replete.  A man may ride his good fortune and commit evil, but you strike him down when that evil is replete.  Thus it may be said that using weapons is also the Way of Heaven.  There are times when ten thousand people suffer because of the evil of one man.  Therefore, in killing one man's evil you give ten thousand people life.  In such ways, truly, the sword that kills one man will be the blade that gives others life.

There is an art to using those weapons.  If you do no know this art, you may well be killed...

Think about this carefully....

It is a martial art to be mindful of chaotic times while ruling the country in peace; and it is also a martial art to observe the inner workings of a country, to know what causes chaos, and to rule well before chaos begins.

While you are governing a country, it is yet again a martial art to keep your mind clearly on the farthest corners of the farthest province and to appoint various officials to keep guard over them.  Such officials--from the highest to the lowest--may have their own selfish agendas, and the suffering of those under them could indeed be the beginning of the country's ruin.

Thus it is essential that you observe the inner workings of the country and prevent this ruin at the hands of officials with various personal agendas.  This is like the martial art of seeing into the intentions of your opponent in a sword match by observing his movements.

You must observe the situation clearly and with great intensity!  This is the Great Principle of the martial arts.

Ubik42

I do, really, appreciate it.

Ah, Yagyu Munenori. Very familar with his writings. I can read him like the back of my book. Which is all moth-eared, btw.

You cannot change the spots on an old dog.

"The reason for this is that the Way of Heaven is a Way that brings life...."

And the way that brings life, well, its the way of heaven. Truer words were often spoken.

SPARTANEMESIS

Here's a bit more from Yagyu Munenori:

"Again, a lord may be accompanied by flatterers who, when facing their superior, will put on the appearance of men of the Way; but when regarding their inferiors, will flash looks of anger.  If one does not curry favor with such men, good deeds will be reported as evil, the guiltless will suffer and criminals will be praised....

Nevertheless, a man close to the lord may plunder those far away, and if the innocent are made to suffer, will they not resent even a lord who is without stain?  Those close to the lord are few--no more than five to ten--but those at a distance are many.  Now the many may resent the lord and sever their affections toward him, and the few close to the lord may have had their own interests in mind from the beginning.  With no thought of true service, those few may govern in such a way as to make the people resent the lord, and at such a time will fight to be the first to distance themselves from him.

It is best to observe this principle well, so that those at a distance will not somehow be at a disadvantage, beyond the lord's blessings....

It is missing the point to think that the martial art is solely in cutting a man down.  It is not in cutting people down; it is in killing evil.  It is the startegem of killing the evil of one man and giving life to ten thousand.

Come on, this is the Internet, not feudal 17th century Japan.

SPARTANEMESIS

The principles are still applicable.

billyblatt: This is the internet. What else do you expect? Do you expect everyone to be a perfect, decent chess player on such an open website? Decide what your priorities are on this website: blocking everyone with a lame username, or playing chess?

SPARTANEMESIS

I, for one, don't expect anyone to be perfect.  When people are consistently indecent they should not be surprised when someone opposes them for it.

I still have the right to block you if you act like s***. If you are here to play chess, you have nothing to worry about.

GenghisCant

Unless you have already blocked 200 people. Sort of the point of this thread.
