Good eye, artfizz! I think we've got those ironed out now. The Queen is a chess-piece like the others, and we've moved the fun-looking trophy to the fun list where it belonged. (There's already a "Moving Up" game trophy, so "On the Way Up" was quite redundant in that context.)

GAME TROPHIES - can only be awarded after a game has ended. There's a Give a Trophy link next to the board.
FUN TROPHIES can be given at any time. Either click on a member's name then notice the Give a Trophy link on the right-hand side (under Actions).
Or hover over a member's name in a forum posting, a hover menu appears which includes the option: Give a Trophy.
And then there are the SITE TROPHIES (located under FUN -> Trophies on the main command menu) ... which are given out by staff or voted on by members!
I agree, that there are too many human figures in new trophies. It's much harder to recognise them. But I believe that it's just a question of time before everyone of us (or most of us) will get used to them. And the way trophies look doesn't really matter besides the fact, that we are able to play chess!
