chess.com bug??

....
I’m telling you...
It is not an App issue due to any bug-
but rather a Server issue due to maximum demands of peak usage.
It absolutely is an app issue that was introduced by trying to minimize traffic from the app to the live server. That was stated by one of the developers.
While the bug may be more pronounced during peak times, the app itself is bugged; that's why they are testing a fix and why there were so many problems after the previous update.

The issue persists- after latest update. We are being lied to - that it is a bug in the iOS app. The issue is inadequate servers unable to meet peak traffic. iOS users find their games disrupted. The problem has persisted far too long. Cancelling membership.
There is a second bug that was identified after a fix was tried last week. One of the IOS developers said they were testing it and planned to upload it to Apple as soon as this afternoon if things went well. Then Apple needs to turn it around.
But certainly there are problems caused by the surge in demand this year. Did you read CEO Erik's post in November?

It was claimed the latest update fixed the issue last week.
It did not. Why should we expected this latest attempt to be any different?

@notmtwain- several weeks ago I initiated a conversation with the lead iOS Developer and have been in contact since. I was the 1st to get answers from the best source- and not rely on moderator guesses.

I do not think the issue has yet to be fully identified - as questions are still being asked about it’s nature.
The 1st player makes a move and it registers on his screen. However- the server does not recognize the move and the players clock continues to run. If down to zero - the game is lost. The correction is found by closing the app and reopening the app. The position is seen as before the last move submitted. It must be made again and the game resumes. It is not a connection issue. The players connection is good and remains so by closing the app and reopening.
Surely there is a code issue- but at the heart is the servers inability to match demands. Who suffers? iOS users find their games stopped. Not disconnected but their games come to an end.

My recommendation is don't use a tablet, or phone, use a computer till the fix this issue.
Contact Chess.com Support Or Use The Beta Club too!!!
See you around,

V3.9.16(2)
Is available. Played 4 games with no issue.
Opening the store does not show the update. You have to go to the App itself. Holding any judgement for now. Perform necessary phone maintenance / clear data and history.
This “advice” to use a comp in the meantime time is silly. I do not own one like so many iOS users.

As you are aware there is a seriously frustrating issue going on with the clocks during game play. Many of us are experiencing this, and are loosing games because of it. Browsing through the forums, I’ve not seen or heard from you any kind of reassurance that you are trying to resolve the issue. It’s now been three weeks, maybe more.
Membership costs are certainly not cheap, and a vast majority of the players have a diamond or star next to their name. Therefore I gather that many pay to play. Funding is certainly not an issue, especially after the uprise of new players who were influenced by The Queens Gambit.
I hope to see the bug fixed soon, as I hope to enter the Chess olympics and carry the torch. I must wave to Old Matey whilst smiling.
Regards
There is a bug in the iOS app. They hope to have it remedied very soon. They put out a new version several days ago but reportedly need another thing fixed.
Yes, this is correct. In fact, the fix for iOS just went into review by Apple. I'm hopeful it will be released to everyone today. This is the 2nd build we've released to address the same issue, and this one seems very solid. We've not been able to reproduce the issue with failed reconnections or frozen clocks internally with it at all, so far. Fingers x'ed for a speedy approval of version 3.9.16 (2). We regret the frustration with recent versions and thank you all very much for your patience.

The issue is not a connection issue. The game clock does not “freeze” but rather continuous to run after a move is entered. You expect to observe the opponents clock to be running. People report that the clock is frozen as the opponents clock is not running. (They fail to recognize their clock continues to run after making a move). The issue is - the server does not recognize your move. It appears on the screen- but it’s not recognized on CC’s end. Closing the app and reopening the app and reentering the move resumes the game- with the opponents clock running.
You remain connected the entire time.
Seems strange you can’t duplicate the issue? Don’t you guys have an iPhone?
The latest version is available now.
The issue persists- after latest update. We are being lied to - that it is a bug in the iOS app. The issue is inadequate servers unable to meet peak traffic. iOS users find their games disrupted. The problem has persisted far too long. Cancelling membership.
