I'd like it if in the analysis board I could just move the pieces to where ever I want. Like if your going to post a puzzle or position from before you enter the moves you set can just move the pieces where ever. I wish I could this with the analysis board.
Chess.com Feature Request and Wishlist #4
Puzzle Notes-
If you post a puzzle, and put notes after moves (as you do in a game) they only show up when (and if) you replay the puzzle after going through it. It would be much better (IMO) if we could at least have the OPTION to make notes appear while the puzzle is being played through.
If this didn't make sense, just message me.
Likesforests: I used 1600 arbitrarily because it's the rating that drakesdman used. I'd envisioned it being configurable when the game was started, but you do bring up a good point which is that the ratio of nominators to voters is important. 1:3 or 1:4 as you've suggested seems reasonable.
One challenge might be assigning individuals to each group as the trickle in and join a vote chess game though. You don't know what the final demographics of the team will look like so it's difficult to say whether a member is a voter or a nominator, especially when they're one of the first few to join.
I also think that the ability to assign either the upper or lower 20-25% as the nominatoers is important. It occurs to me thatthe dynamic of the game would be quite different depending on which you choose (as I tried to describe above).
While we're on the topic of vote chess, I'd suggested it before, but I thought I'd rehash it here: When I'm watching election coverage there is an algorithm that is used to determine when a candidate has won a riding despite all of the votes not being in. Implementing something similar in Vote chess would vastly speed up the games.
Tournaments-
I think it would be nice to be able to see which tournaments I still have games going in, or am progressing to the next round to, seperately to those which I have been eliminated from. It just saves trivial clicking and back-tracking.
On Team-Vote Chess Games....
Why can't we see what move our fellow team members vote for....I mean each specific player on a team ?
Not just the overall percentage per certain positions!
Will this be added in the future...or do we stay anonymous ?
Does anyone know or have any opinions on this?
Rami.
in turn based chess if a move is forced can you have the computer automatically do it for you
I'd like to see that feature in live chess to ( also maybe in vote chess)

You can do this with the Analysis Board - provided you launch it from Game Explorer.
Im very impressed by this list as well as the accomodation of David Pruess to the site. Things are looking good on the forefront. I am extremely pleased to be a member!
Optional larger profile picture maybe. You can't get the full effect of pictures when they're so small. I have some lovely tiger ones that look like mutated chickens in that small space

Great idea, I often try to double click profile pictures to see what they really contain and this facility would be much appreciated!
I'd like (and think you'd like as well) the ability to post pictures (such as the one below) in bug reports.

This would be good as a part of the mouse-over functionality that's being discussed.

Agreed!
Really what we are talking about here is the perfection of an already great site. How do you make Guinness better, how do you improve on Green day etc.. But small things make a difference to regular site users!
Spring cleaning is in order I think, I have already sent an e-mail to chess.com to ask for a clean up of my files, i.e, id est, that is, to remove all of the unused and unnecessary forums in my home page.
This includes: my tracked activities, my latest blog and my recent activities.
This action will save millions if not billions of bytes in the storage system.
The computer system might run faster, but my point is to get rid of unwanted forums, including my own.
When batgirl answered me that a clean up job is in process I thought it might be time for all of us to do the same.
The site could provide a check box besides all of the items in the forums I mentionned above, similar to the message page:http://www.chess.com/home/messages.html,
where one can delete or deselect the unwanted items.
Alternatively a preset time limit can be set up, say 6 months, where beyond which a user would have the choice to retain old forums or delete.
And if no rsponse by the user they would be deleted with a reminder over a 3 day period that the action would be taken to remove all forums beyond a certain date.
May sound a bit radical but regular maintenance, I would suggest twice a year is not asking for a lot. I used to do mine on a weekly basis.
Let's hear your suggestion all of you including chess.com people.
There are consequences if anyone eliminates their posts. If they initiated a discussion, the ENTIRE DISCUSSION DISAPPEARS. If they participated in a discussion, the responses to their posts will no longer make sense and the discussion will become inconsistent.

Many discussions remain relevant long after they were posted. The same questions crop up repeatedly (e.g. number of possible board positions). What would be the point of discarding earlier ruminations?
TRACKING is a mechanism that provides a degree of control over which topics are highlighted. Explicitly switching off tracking on topics no longer of interest, is an effective way of sharpening our focus - and it something we can already do, without chess.com's intervention.
For the online chess submit button there should be two: "submit and go to next ready game" and "submit and stay on this game" as I often need a different one every time. Also, online chess should be organized under tabs-- "all, tournament, friends, rated, unrated, greeter" that list how many games are under each.
Long list up there.....they spoil us way to much.....
