I probably shouldn't have been greedy and grabbed the e-pawn. It might be playable for black if you know the lines, but I don't and I keep losing games in the opening, so I should have avoided complicating things.
Pretty awesome game. Remind me on Thursday so I can analyse it (after the first portion of exams...). Berlin opening is really awesome, but lots of theory. :)

Chesster collects another win as soon as he makes the mating move. Horrible blunder to give up a rook, decided that rather than being down a rook and resigning I'd go for being down the exchange and hope he wouldn't notice the mate. He noticed. In another game my king has kind of walked into an unhealthy position - something like a2 where no sane white king has any business being at this point in the game, but maybe I can get away with it still.

For once I contrived not to lose the game in the opening. I don't see any other obvious blunders, but interested in commentary.
I think instead of the awful 22. Rfd1 I should have played Bxc5 Rxc5 23. Rxb7.

It was a blunder by chesster to give up the c-file I think. He had to just take the trade there, but then I think my two passed pawns should be winning. ?When I played Rc8 I was looking at 31. ... Bd7 32. Nxd7 Kxd7 33. Kxb5 Kc8 when I think I should be winning pretty easily but in fact I can win the bishop with 32. Rd8.
I agree. But why 6. b3?

The idea was to free up the dark bishop. I guess it wasn't such a good idea.
Yes, in French Advance black could get in trouble if trying to win the d pawn too early, when the white queen has free way to the q side. After 6. Be2, for example:
Nice end! The white king had been very active and all the pieces were perfectly coordinated.
The king would have to move his fat ass a lot before reaching a safe refuge, unless you agree with perpetual... but better than giving the queen anyway.
