I remember correctly,Northern Ireland is considered a province of the uk where Scotland and Wales are actually countries whitin the uk. It's a bit in the name: the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I think the UN might consider them all provinces of the UK. But the reason Northern Ireland isn't included within Great Britain is because it isn't in Great Britain, which is the landmass comprising England, Scotland and Wales.

Northern Ireland IS included in Great Britain. Its the Republic of Ireland which ISNT

No, it isn't. Great Britain is often used synonymously with the United Kingdom, but it isn't the same thing. Hence the full title is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

Quite clearly if Northern Ireland was part of Great Britain, it would just be the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Maybe you should actually look stuff up before you contradict people.

Northern Ireland is not a country. Same as Northern Cyprus. It's geographical term, hence the word Northern.

No. That's like saying South Carolina isn't a separate state, it's just part of Carolina...

Shaggy wrote a song about it, if I remember correctly.

Exactly. And South Carolina is part of the US.

The only  internationally recognised country with North in its name is North Korea.

No, north is a geographical location. Only joking. Sounds like you've changed your mind but dressed it up slightly differently.

North Sudan is another country with "North" as part of it

I'm sure I've seen Northern Ireland's flag, and it's similar to the English one. Unless I'm thinking of Georgia, which is definitely very similar.

But I'm sure it's debatable whether Northern Ireland - and England, Scotland and Wales - are actually seperate countries. I know none of them are on the UN's list of members individually.

England, Scotland and Wales are countries in a historical and geographical sense. The actual country is the United Kingdom and the legal national status is British Citizen. I always thought that N. Ireland had a flag looking like England's St. George Cross with a small motif in the centre. I don't see why it shouldn't have a flag on Chess.com.

Silly. We civilized the world and stole most of its resources. Immigrants nowadays are only interested hard work and looking after their families. Totally different.

Has it's own football team, so FIFA thinks it's a country. For the right amount of cash of course.

I think that there is a flag with the Red Hand of Ulster at the centre of the Union Jack.
