Dislike Most Chess Players?

I dislike most (I did not say all) chess players from personal experience and of course online as well; it is what it is.

I’ll be the first to say it. You all can have your chess.

If there are even a few that you like, maybe it's worth it? I've "met" a few people here that make the experience very positive, in spite of the many trolls....Pegusu and Nerves_of_Butter, to name a couple....and several more.

Not forgetting dear sweet loveable Woolly of course ! ✌️😺

Agreed. It's like the enemy in war. What is there to like about them? They're trying to vanquish you. What's so great about that? Woe to the vanquished!

Chess players are great. You have to experience it in an otb setting

Definitely not the first. Chess.com is a graveyard of posts like these.

Perhaps we need more positivity. Never forget.

Okay, my goodness; you caught my attention .

I was thinking of taking a short break throwing some fists down; that’s how we do it.

Ok, but… knowing the reasons would help to understand.

Not sure, the lack of sportsmanship, rudeness, condescending attitude, hypocrisy and know it alls comes to mind.

How can you say you "like anyone" you encountered online?

Must perverts online come off as nice people until they take you.

Rudeness, I understand.

About hypocrisy and condescending attitude, could you specify a little more ? Could you give some exemples ? ( If you feel like it, of course )

I ask because you seem very disappointed. If you don't want to answer, it doesn't matter.

Easy. You have a few conversations and discover that you have things in common, you share values, and you find yourself treating each other kindly and respectfully....and PRESTO! You like them.  Happens all the time.
Doesn't mean you send them your credit card number, or even your address, but that doesn't mean you can't like them.

ericthatwho

Thats how perverts and conman operate. They build your trust by talking about things you have in common "(?)".

I said nothing about liking just that online how do you know?

I'm just asking but do these nice people ask for your bank number so they can send you a million dollars. (just asking.)

Mike_Kalish

There are people I truly "like" on line, and so far, none has asked for my bank number, or any other personal info.

There are some others who have offered to send me millions of dollars and I would never send them my bank number...... at least not again. wink.

It's also how decent people operate, so I assume they're decent until I have reason to believe otherwise.

My friends and family seem to. Otherwise, I don't know. Some do, some don't.
