Feature request: Live play challenge

When a friend is online but not in the Live play area, I would like to either challenge to play live or send IM to invite them to come to the Live play area.

It doesn't seem like this is possible now but I think it would be a nice feature.

Right, without the "Players" tab which was recently removed this is a bit more difficult. However, we are still working on fine tuning the Live Chess and we hope to bring the "Players" tab back when it will be easy for you to challenge them to a game and invite them to a live chat.

If he is on your "freinds" list on the site, when is is logged into live chess, you will see his name in the "friends" tab, and will be able to IM or challenge him from there.

I think he means the ability to literally challenge a opponent NOT currently logged in to live chess (but online on the main site) to play. So that they can click 'accept', and be instantly transferred to a live chess game, despite not being logged in to live chess beforehand.

yeah - that's what I meant. I sent my friend a msg - but if he doesn't check his msgs then he won't see it.

Sounds like this is something under consideration/development.

Nice site - well done/good performance (OSX 10.5/MacIntel/Firefox 3)
