we are working on it. unfortunately it is proving more difficult than expected. every day there are hundreds of thousands of games being played. we are working on getting a sustainable system in place. more info in a few weeks.

Thank you for the update. I will (somewhat) patiently wait. I do enjoy the site very much, and think this feature would be a great addition. using Fritz is a bit clunky as I have to download pgns and import them. Then I end up with dupes because I forgot what my last download included.

Hoping for some good news or at least an update...

Same here. At least for correspondence games...

mottsauce

I have all my corr games, but only a few hundred of my live games.

EricFleet

I have one live game, nothing else.

mottsauce

i bet it has to do with when you joined the site. probably including the oldest games first, moving towards the most recent.

Support staff - is there any progress on this front?

Yes, I would like an update as well.

MatchStickKing

I think it's a really powerful tool that could be quite useful. So long as it's modified to stop people using it against you in live games!

MatchStickKing

Indeed it's not, but have chess.com actually coded the site such that it is impossible to use the game explorer whilst playing a live game?

we are now importing games. it just takes a long time to get through them. but a plan is in place to catch up with the 250,000 games played on our site per day :/

Cool!

Thank you for the update. I have to admit I am getting a bit impatient with this as we are now past 6 months since I was told that the import would be coming "soon". I can workaround by importing to Fritz, but I would rather not have to do so.

NicholasFooJinSau

fritz is too bulky.

4 months later after the original 6 months and no import. Any update?

Canutus

The OP has obviously been more than patient and as he is a paying subscriber, perhaps chess.com should pay attention?

trust me, this is top of mind. we purchased 3 new servers (at a cost of $4000 each!) and they have been sitting at our datacenter waiting for our host to install :( look like they went in on friday. (i'm quite irritated with them!). anyway, now comes the crazy process of getting the code all triple checked to start importing live games.... there just literally has not been a way to do this faster :(

EricFleet

Thank you for the udpdate.

Just curious... why not a virtual environment? I'm assuming physical servers from the price tag.
