It would be terrible for me. Chess.com's correspondence style chess, mobile app, learning content and. Community are what brought me back to chess. I don't think it's an issue though. You can look at the site and tell its healthy and thriving.

it's pretty rad though how erik's popularity and control are so emcompassing that only like 3.5 people are even remotely worried about the true motivation behind this survey. everyone is so worried about losing the site, that they're willing to pay millions to keep it going. bwahahaha
I would be pretty disappointed. This site has evolved into my very favorite forms of procrastination. If chess.com disappeared, I would like likely turn back into a deadline-oriented, productive member of society. Where is the fun in that?

Chess.com is an intellectual home for me. It's almost always the first site I bring up and the one i'm most excited about. If Chess.com were to e-disappear it would be the death of my favorite outlet. Of course I would get by, but for a while it would be kind of like using your neighbor's kitchen to cook your food. Any other place would feel uncomfortable for a really long time.
