It was really more like 80% bug, 20% spam. There used to be a bug where you could spam the "publish" button for club news and It would post the same news multiple times. Thus multiplying the points that you receive. So I wrote a script using auto-hotkey to pump out club news and then rapidly click on the "publish" button to get more points. It took about 2 seconds to post the news (which would post 3 times due to the bug, giving me 15 points) which means I was earning 450 points a minute. I left this for about 3 hours and when I came back I was over 100,000 points. And since It was done in a private club it doesn't violate the chess.com terms of service.
The bug still exists, but it is extremely unreliable compared to when I used it, so it is almost impossible to get a high number of points now.
