artfizz you are now on the "wanted" list for reviving this thread... you are warned!!

wanted for among other things.. 1) "the unwarranted continuation of subjects and topics expressly and explicitly disavowed by all members of the forum"..

2) adding to the misery of members of this site who only want to play chess, and not be distracted by inane and pointless threads.. which are threatening the stability of this online community.."

(i'm thinking of other charges.. give me a moment..)

Oops! I guess nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

Where do these entrepreneurs spawn from?

This one from Bangladesh, apparently. That type of professional inflaming certainly puts our measly efforts to shame.

Hey, I don't mind if they're promoting nokia. I live in Finland and the goverment is a major stock-owner. Less taxes for me to pay if they're faring well...

How to inflame (#102): Don't use the QUOTE button or line breaks.  Kenneth67 wrote: adding to the misery of members of this site who only want to play chess, and not be distracted by inane and pointless threads.. which are threatening the stability of this online community.."

Those mobile bricks? I prefer Samsung myself. The Nordic races seem to be obsessed with bricks and building - Nokia bricks, Lego bricks, IKEA furniture, etc... (and yes, I know Lego is Danish...)Laughing

You know how they say: "Good bacon has 'Danish' written all over it.' ? Well, it doesn't!

I don't use nokia either (I used to favour erickson which in Finland is considered high treason) and I hate Ikea... But legos? Great stuff.

kenneth67

They built a whole house from Lego - great idea, but it wasn't great at load-bearing...

I'm vegetarian, so I wouldn't know, lolLaughing (oops, here comes the stampede of carnivores).

wormrose

My ancestors didn't fight and scrape their way to the top of the food chain so I could eat lettuce. (Just my opinion) (Not intended to inflame vegetarians)

On a related issue - I'm always glad to see old threads revived. It demonstrates that someone out there actually has time on their hands.

kenneth67

No offence taken, wormrose. But the way the animals are treated should be cause for concern for any sentient being. mho.

artfizz

I was referring to 'vegetarian bacon'.

kenneth67

thanks for clarifying

I would expect most vegetarians to be a little to lean, and perhaps even sinewy, to make for good bacon.

kenneth67

lol

(I'm 85kg and fit as a fiddle, my eyesight is excellent too, and my spelling is excellent - if anything's lean, it's your bias)Tongue out

That writing is kinda skinny. Now what did I do with those fava beans and the chianti?

I think it's atrocious the way plants are treated just because they don't have a soul. They are given life and made to live in the dirt only to to be slaughtered wholesale to feed the starving masses. In many cases they are eaten while still alive. The lobster might get away but that radish never had a chance. My motto - "Eat a Cow, that Broccoli may live".

TheGrobe

Why is it only the cute vegetables that get this kind of treatment?  Sure, broccoli might be adorable, but why do you never see anyone rallying behind a potato.
