I'd dispute that -- you're pretending to be averse to attention, yet you continue to seek it.

And, alas, Dear Grobe, we are guilty of continually giving that attention he seeks... so... in the spirit of if-you-can't-silence-em-give-em-a-platform-to-stand-on: dadiekool, if this issue of being a man with a sexy female avatar and being confused with being a woman and getting comments from boys and men who thereby presume you to be a sexy woman, etc, etc, whathaveyou, ad nauseum, really is something you must discuss over and again to the delight of all, did you know Chess.com has a place where you can write and publish an article on any chess-related subject you choose:

http://www.chess.com/articles/post.html

Go forth, young man. Write your grievance. Explain your concerns. Garner your audience... the stage is yours.

Oh, no, dadiedadiedadie dadiekool, no... an article would be so much more than a mere forum thread or a post to "your and I repeat your" profile page. A good article on this terribly important topic of your boyhood could well be deemed of such worth as to make it to the very front page of chess.com itself. Now, that would be the ultimate exposure for your concerns.

Honestly, you try to help some people, be nice, offer good honest advice and you get told to keep your "lame ass commits" to yourself. Well. Indeed.

That poster was only stating the obvious. I'm not really sure how the set-up on this site works, but this thread was posted as a forum topic under Chess.com Community. It's not a personal blog on the home page.

As such, the thread falls into the public domain of forums, and therefore subject to public attention; and is accessible and thus commentable by anyone. It is no longer your own private property but a public forum topic open to everyone on this site. I doubt the author of a thread posted in a forum can even delete other posters' comments - only admin can do it. But not sure about this though.

So, the moral of the story is that if one posts something in public, then one has to accept the fact that the public has the right to respond. You can't fault the poster for this. This post shows on your home page as only your "Recent Activity", not your blog.

well this is different and im embarrassed that im even gonna contribute to this thread but i cant help myself...straight men of all ages, from 13-103, like pretty women and, married or not, engage in flirtation on anonomous sites...even sites devoted to chess!  so if you dont want male attention dont choose a sexy female avatar to display to the world...simple as that...if you want to keep the avatar be prepared to rebuke flirtatious behavior, period....you cant have your cake and eat it too...no offense ment that just the way i see things.

i am totally aware of how the minds of men works being one myself and when your pic is a pretty girl you can expect certain behavior from guys but what i dont understand is this if you read the name of the person "dadiekool" does this sound female to you 2nd would it be considered polite to at least ask who your talking to instead of hey baby how are you

I constantly keep getting chatted up by the Simpsons. No matter how many times I tell them that I am not a yellow cartoon, they see my avatar and just won't believe me!

In spite of this, I will continue to use it, and will be posting a thread about how annoying this is soon.

If you look at the avatar, you'll see the lassie has quite a masculine face. I think she is a he - and the forum topic, 'I am a boy' is stating this. So, you have a picture of a dude dressed as a dame and your gonna change your avatar. Is there anything else I need to know?
