The second tooth from the top left hurts alot. It's throbbing. My Wisdom teeth have been pulled so actually it would be the 3rd from the top left 20 years ago.

Who here feels that playing chess soothes pain ?

The_Ghostess_Lola

....probably 'cuz it's diverting my attention.

The_Ghostess_Lola

I'm drinking cold water 'cuz it helps, but when I play chess I forget about it. And I'm winning my games this morning....Yay !!

The_Ghostess_Lola

It must be dying which probably means I'll need a root canal....YUCK !

The word *Root Canal* just seems so wrong. Couldn't they come up w/ a better name than that ? Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Try putting your queen right up against the tooth and slamming the other end with your thickest chess book.

Note: This method does not come with a guarantee.

I'm was drinking a latte and it inflicted severe pain....tho' it was yummy Smile . Cold water eased the heartbeat in my tooth. Maybe I'll try an Iced Coffee pretty soon. Better yet, a mai tai.

....self-meds are certainly an option.

U mean kinda like Tom Hanks in Cast Away ?

I have better wayz of passing out by the fire you know.

The_Ghostess_Lola

....and BTW, sometimes I'm not seeking a solution. Sometimes I just wanna a little sympathy and maybe some shared stories of similar.

The_Ghostess_Lola

Uhh Ohh....it's starting to hurt again. I'm gonna go play a game & be right back.

The_Ghostess_Lola

I just won a 1670....I zapped their Queen !

Pain gone....w/ a good dose of pleasure !

Hold the water in your mouth on the side it is hurting dude. I had a toothache a while ago and it was so sore I was actually crying until my mum got me tablets with morphine in it. Cocodamol theyre called.

Someone told me to put the meds directly on my bad tooth....& let it melt. But that sounds kinda plecebo to me. What do ya think ?

the nerve in your upper left first molar has died. it is necrotising (rotting or putrifying). the bacteria present produce gas as a waste product, when you drink something hot the gas expands hence the pain, and relief with cold, which causes the gas to contract. you need a root treatment. antibiotics will help in the very short term if you can't have root canal now.

martinchess1

do not put meds directly on the tooth.

The_Ghostess_Lola

I guess its time for a funeral.

Seriously, that's very interesting. the gas-making bacteria part. See ?....it's starting to hurt again as I start dwelling over it.

I have nice teeth. Not perfect, but white & pretty healthy....Laughing....

Back to chess here in a few minutes to restore & alleviate.

If it is tooth rot ?....how long do I have to get it fixed before it falls out ?

martinchess1

it won't fall out, it'll make you sick. don't put it off. it's not one of those things you can ignore.

The_Ghostess_Lola

I kinda wish I knew how all this came about. Sunday, outta thin air, it started throbbing. Now I'm here reading on Wiki about dying teeth & getting more & more worried.

Sadly, I have all the symptoms & subsequently needing surgery....like pronto.
