You don't have $5? I'm sure it would only take about 1/2 hour to collect $5 in change from bottles or cans, get a silver account, create your group, then cancel your silver membership. Just an idea. :)
I want to make my own group

well I don't exactly have a credit card- so I do not know how to buy the silver membership.
can I send a check or something? when I went to checkout it asked for a credit card.
but really, can I get the silver account, create the group, then cancel it? I would still be able to run it and make my dream come true?
if so, I vow to you, the new generation will follow radjabov!

Can I pay by check?
- Yes! Send your payment to: Chess.com, PO Box 60400, Palo Alto, CA 94306. Make sure to include your member name with your payment.

ok thanks! now I know what I must do do I need to put personal information with the check?
You need to include your username... See the bottom of this page for details: http://www.chess.com/membership.html

unreal. your in your 20's living in california. you'll probably spent $30 on dinner and movies this weekend. i have ZERO sympathy for you. if you were an 11-year old kid in bangalore then you have something to complain about. unbelievable.
:)

ok erik. I live with my parents. And I'm not an adult. So basically, I'm a child and I am NOT ALLOWED to put my real birthday. You know about the parent "security" and all that. So unfortunately I'm not a 20 year old guy going out to dinner and movies on the weekend. I'm just a kid with dreams of becoming a chess master, like all other serious chess players. I'm sorry.

then tell your parents about your dream and i'm sure they will support you for $29 a year. tell them it's either chess, or you'll start hanging out with the wrong crowd :)

they don't like me playing chess :(. but I think I don't really need the premium membership. this is already as fun as it is. however, since being a regular member and I can't make a group, can you make my dream group? it would be called the "reti attack" and have a big bright picture of richard reti on the front page. I could join and I guess that would be almost the same.
thanks.
p.s. is there really no t-shirt for the 1000 points thing? I thought I read somewhere that you said so- maybe the forum was REALLY old. Well, I guess that's alright I still know how to use hte enlgish!

There really is no t-shirt for the 1000 poins thing. What you read was very old, from the beginning days of chess.com.

I mean it wouldn't be too hard to make the reti group- and it sure would make a whole lot of the chess.com members happy!
And also: can't I even get a chess.com cup for 1000 points? Do I have anything to dream for with my 48 points?
Thanks.
Ok, as many of you onlookers are painfully aware, I have begun an assault on the premium membership thing. Not that I do not respect it, as without it this website will not be running, but I just wanted to have a little fun with it.
But more seriously is the creating a group ability only allowed by premium accounts. with this I find it difficult to join let alone create my very own Reti online team. I am obsessed with reti and his opening- just see my games.
I hope that the creating a group function will become available to all users in the future. When that moment comes, me and my reti dream will be waiting.
