@Schachgeek (did I get that right, this is your writing isn't it:) I had a spat with Facebook a while back because they were allowing a convicted murder to contact my minor children. I asked Facebook for admin rights to my kids' profiles. Facebook's response was that these kids (12,13 and 15) have privacy rights that trump parental rights.
As a former reporter, I can tell you I'd be drooling to write this up. And it falls on a lot of beats: tech, family, law/rights.
An organization like Facebook is sensitive to its public profile -- they may become a lot more responsive to you if you get some media coverage of your story. And your story really does seem newsworthy to me.
One reporter to another, you know there's more to the story than that. Even in the next paragraph he admitted it was more complicated than the quoted portion made it sound.
