Man, I wish I had a book that my chess teacher had. It has a bunch of tactics and fun combonation problems.
This is a premature question, given he's only 20 or 21.

I broadly agree with your sentiments. A player can't be considered the "Greatest" until he has defeated the best of his peers, in match play.
Dodging the current WC cycle did nothing to enhance Carlsen's claim.
I'm not ready to throw out a wealth of tradition, just to accommodate the XBOX generation.

Reshevsky is pretty good but there were but a few good players back then. If Reshevsky came out today, I am not even sure if he makes top ten. If Magnus came during his time, We'd be talking now about how Carlsen is the best of all time. Sammy did not even win the World Championship.
Believe me he would be top ten.
