Reshevsky is pretty good but there were but a few good players back then. If Reshevsky came out today, I am not even sure if he makes top ten. If Magnus came during his time, We'd be talking now about how Carlsen is the best of all time. Sammy did not even win the World Championship.

Believe me he would be top ten.

Straight razor, dude!

Yeah, I see a razor but I don't see any stubble.

Looks like the young fellah is having that "parents are out" first shave.

I'd like to see a game between Fischer and Magnus myself.

I know right?! :D Besides, both were above 2800. What was  Magnus's highest rating? I know Bobby's was 2875.

Fischer wasn't rated 2875. Cheeses! The legend of Fischer is going to eat TokyoLaughing

Man, I wish I had a book that my chess teacher had. It has a bunch of tactics and fun combonation problems.

This is a premature question, given he's only 20 or 21.

If only he was a swimmer.

Good picture of Kasparov.

Premature ( wishful ?) predictions.

I know he's rated higher than Vishy Anand, but Vishy always rises to the occasion.

I'm sure Vishy Anand has a trick or two up his sleeve and will surely beat the over-rated (in my opinion) Magnus Carlsen.

I broadly agree with your sentiments. A player can't be considered the "Greatest" until he has defeated the best of his peers, in match play.

Dodging the current WC cycle did nothing to enhance Carlsen's claim.

I'm not ready to throw out a wealth of tradition, just to accommodate the XBOX generation.

The best player ever is no doubt, who invented the game.

Magnus Carlsen is the best prodigy of all time, of course. I'm also 13, people say I'm one of the best young players around, but Magnus Carlsen, with 2400 or 2500 FIDE at my age, fails to be described by words. Even Chuck Norris wears Magnus Carlsen pajamas.

Of course? Surprised Youngest chess grandmasters in history:

1. Sergey Karjakin  Ukraine 12 years, 7 months, 0 days
2. Parimarjan Negi  India 13 years, 4 months, 22 days
3. Magnus Carlsen  Norway 13 years, 4 months, 27 days
