Is this allowed

someone (not saying there name) asked me for my name and country and i was just wondering if i should report them or if there allowed to ask me for that.

Nothing wrong with asking. Its your decision whether to answer or not. And considering you have a first name in your profile name.

Someone once asked me for my address. Do you think I gave that info out?

A first name alone is not PII data, an neither is a country. So again its up to you whether to answer or not.

Yep or just ignore it.

They are allowed to ask, but you are under no obligation to answer.

The only way it would be against policy would be if they threatened you, like if they claim they know where you live and threaten physical violence if you don't answer. That would violate policy.

But just simply asking - that is not against policy.

What is your real name?

Ian could be his stage name. You think Ozzy Osbourne was his real name? It wasn't. It was John Michael Osbourne.

Thats why I phrased it as: "And considering you have a first name in your profile name."

Did they ask for your gender?

Imagine a World where it would be forbidden to ask questions....

If someone asks you a question you don't want to give them the true/correct/real answer to it, you have got tons of ways to do it.

First and most simple, you tell them you don't want to tell them.

Then, since life can be tricky and complicated, maybe, for any reason, you don't want to offend them. You can still achieve your goal by eluding the question, ask an other question in turn, give a vague or false answer, etc, etc, and etc.

It seems to me, too many pipl dream of calling 911 at anybody doing or saying anything they don't like. If it's your case, try re evaluate your point of view, or get used to be seen as insane by most pipl.
