late at night i was playing many Arabs from numerous Arab states such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, etc. But as soon as i switched my flag to the State of Israel. I was ONLY matched with Americans, Europeans,  and South/ Central Americans. Was this just a fluke, or does chess.com ban israelis playing Arabs?

Hmm, I've never heard that they did that.

It would surprise me.

/ When did you switch? Is there a series in your archive that shows what you were saying? A screenshot would help.

My guess is that it was a fluke, but it would be interesting to see if changing your flag does make a difference. Why not experiment with it a bit more?

I’ve been playing for a couple months now.
I have maxed many Arabs.
Most of the antisemitism I get is from Jordanian players.

If you do get any anti-semitism in the chat, just disable it.

maybe

A lot of Arab players are scared to play Israelis. Personally I’ve only experienced one incident of a guy being anti-Semitic. It was on LiChess. He was a Syrian and he was so scared to play me that he was spamming the draw button. Otherwise I’ve just had a bunch of Arab players turn off chat with me even if I sent them friendly messages or in some cases abort games. I’d like to add that when I started using the Israel flag I was only getting countries that recognize Israel, but as time has gone on, I have gotten more Arab opponents

Depending on which Arab country they live in, they would be justifiably worried about being found to be engaging in any contact with an Israeli. Sad, but true. :/

it doesnt make sense why chess com would ban certain groups of players from playing each other. it was probably a coincidence

Anonymous_Dragon

Purely a coincidence.

Would have given it a thought had you said, you did get matched with Arabs but then they abandoned the game. But that wasn't the case here.

I think chess.com is a place where successfully people get along and break alot of boundries..

Keep it that way - and don't mention some troll or another and try to make some big phenomenon out of it.. Like don't give trolls a stage that makes no sense..

In general I wish people would leave politics out of here I mean OP is obviously asking a completely far fetched question just to get some reaction... I mean it's a silly question because it's obvious chess.com would not ban any country from playing any other country...
