Largest Chess Rating Changes in one year
I played some kid in a tournament 3 years ago, who was rated 1754 USCF at the time. Within about 14-15 months, he was over 2100! Pretty neat!
Bill Wall :
"... in June-July, 1957, ending up 6th-7th and now down to 2103. But after that, his rating skyrocketed. He won the US Jr Ch again in July, 1957 and got a 2298 rating. Then he won the US Open in August, 1957 and the New Jersey Open in September, two weeks later. His rating was now 2605. At the end of the year, he won the US Championship and his rating was 2722 as a 14-year old in 1957."

I pose a question that can be answerable by data or one's best guess. What is the most amount of points to be gained in one year by someone over 1800ish? / What is the most amount of ELO points one can expect to gain in one year given one's best effort? Is there any data that shows how great of a rating change some of the best have had...
I don't mean changes from say, 500 to 1200. But at a higher level near expert- what would be reasonable.
