Make up your OWN Chess Quote!
"No game was ever won by bragging about one's successes in dubious openings on the forums."
How's that ?
Well, sort of - I've read that (and believe that) he spends hours on opening prep, just not as much as his peers do.
Push a pawn with one hand, wish for a queen with the other. See which one comes first. (My father is fond of saying, "Wish with one hand, shit in the other. See which one comes first.")
Yeah, Carlsen is kind of famous for underprepping on openings (Compared to opponents who have insanely deep opening prep). He still probably preps more than me, but not by much! He has equal or worse positions going into the middlegame, and then outplays GM's in the middlegame to win. Perfect proof of your quote!
“You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5,
and the path leading out is only wide enough for one,”

That's Tal
No, it's not Tal, JMB2010. The comma at the end makes it original. Why would you ever insinuate that Tal made an error when he wrote a sentence?
Of course, the rest is Tal. Nice catch
Chess? What's this talk of "Chess"? I'm simply restoring order to the chaos of the cosmos. If I happen to use 64 squares and chessmen, one move at a time? So be it.
Even the best chess grandmaster may only make one move at a time.
Think it's remarkable? Then say it again. And you can quote me on that one if they ask you who says so.
A chess game has 3 phases: the first, when you hope you may have an advantage, the second, when you know you have an advantage, and the third, when you disconnect.
