Reading the topic title quickly, I thought it was going to be compare member size competition. How juvenile can I be!

err , I toss a coin. Can't believe I actually did that on my own. Batgirl won. Thats 2 for Batgirl.
Personally I can't think of anything worse than winning "member of the month", don't mean to be a killjoy or anything (who am I kidding? I love being a killjoy!) but this sort of thing can get out of hand on online communities, so far the community here has been mostly awesome, but having what's basically a popularity contest in the forums may be the first step towards changing this.
Just my opinion, I may be over-reacting ofcourse, and maybe its just my jealousy at work, reaising I'll never be member of the month :P

I agree with Puppaz. Member of the month can get out of hand really fast.
Instead of "member" of the month, why not have "blog", "forum topic", or "article" of the month. Then it is less about personality or popularity and more about what is being contributed to the site. Also, multiple categories means more people "win".
