do a bunch of puzzles
Minor competition/tournament at my local chess club soon. Any tips?

do a bunch of puzzles
I say thats under the "study tactics" part I said, but I will definitely do that.

prepare yourself against the fried liver too
I play caro, so I dont have to worry about that

I know Na5. I dont have to worry about using it tho, cuz I use caro. Thank you for the attempted help.

Honestly, the most important thing here is your fighting spirit, and your good atitude. Just play and try your best, and have fun. Here's a pretty basic Caro-can opening file.
Just develop your pieces and lookout for good tactics. GLHF!

i reccomend the best opening for caro which is f6 g5
Bru I aint that stupid can I actually get some advice

Thanks for the opening lines, but I already have a full ooening repertoire (probably shouldn't at my level, but I find studying openings fun, and its not like I take chess too too seriously) that I am comfortable with that is different than that. Still, thanks a ton!

The title is self explanatory. There is a mini-tournament at our very small club very soon (dont know exact date; Probably around 2 weeks), and I may need some tips. I am one of the stronger players (yes, thats how small the club is. I, a 850 elo, am the 2nd or 3rd strongest player in the whole club), and I dont know exactly what to do in preparation. Do I prepare any possible opening stuff (I know what my freinds mostly play for openings, and I can prepare in advance. Btw, about half the club are pretty much freinds of mine.) do I prepare any opening lines to take them out of book? Obviously I will study tactics, and endgames, but I just don't know what to do.
