These types of posts are right up there with lag posts. Ever notice that the person whining is always winning when they are disconnected? No one ever posts how they won in a lost position due to lag.

Well I rarely get to play chess. I hate to admit it but I am not that good, but I still want a competitive chess game. If you look at the game the other person still had a chance. I am just upset that its a problem and why people do it. I don't have a solution, but I saw this forum and thought that my opinion would be valued. I hope I am right, and I hope you understand what we are upset about.

im not complaining about chores im complaining about my limited time being wasted because someone is stalling. I have summer break, but that doesn't mean I want to wait for 30 min. I also understand that I have to do chores. I. am fully willing to help out, even if its not fun.

You have no idea what happened at the other end of the line. Your opponent didn't just walk away and let the time run out, they did come back and let you finish the win. Was it a parent whose small child had some sort of crisis? Was it a kid whose parent demanded they do something "this instant"? Was there a meal on the stove they just realized was burning? Did a neighbor pound on the door and start raging about something the family dog had done to his property. Was there an important pone call they had to attend to? Did they knock their mouse on the floor and have to fix it or dig out a spare? Perhaps it was a wireless mouse whose batteries died and they couldn't find the spare batteries immediately. Or any of a hundred other circumstances immediately required their attention for a few minutes.
Believe it or not, an online chess game is not the most important thing in the world. Believe it or not, everything someone does that inconveniences you is not done out of spite or deliberate intention to harass you. Your conclusion, with no proof, that "this player must do this in every match" is ridiculous. Demanding that they must be punished for not letting you win quickly enough is ridiculous. Get a life.

Dear OP, you could try to make good use of your intelligence and figure out the consequences of such a major change in the rules of chess such as you claim should be made.
Chess clocks were invented, mostly because in prized matches, some players took long times to play forced moves, as they noticed it was going on their opponent's nerves.
Several solutions were proposed, such as money fines in case of trespassing a time per move limit, but none of these solutions were satisfying.
Chess clocks saved the day.
And rules got made, adjusted and written, in order to make it possible for chess games, prized or not, to happen, with a severe limitation to time abuses.
But these limitations have got their own limitations all the same, and I wish you luck re-writting the rules of chess about chess clocks, in the art of "Can do what want, only not if I decide it's not fit".
But please do that, and send a copy to the FIDE (chess.com is no maker of the rules of chess...), so we all can have a good laugh in case someone decides to publish your special rules.
I don't want to change the chess world. Nor the rules for how time is used, now you only have one move to make and the next you lose the game. You can just leave, but no, you'd rather make the opponent wait 9 minutes. This is fair? I have a family, I have things to do, I play this game to escape the torture that is the real world, and I find that bad people not only are everywhere, but they find a gigantic layer of defenders who use irony to say anything. shallow and nonsensical argument that comes to mind.
Position won, 17 minutes on the clock. In the next move is mate, the victory is already mine, just take my points and go home happy, right?
Wrong! The player [remove player name mod SB] made me wait for 8 minutes until I won the match. Note that I even asked in the chat for him to leave and threatened to report him, and it doesn't matter to him. continued to wind me up endlessly. Chess.com says that if we report it, it will solve the problem, how? This player must do this in every match and has never been punished. Too disappointed! This type of person does not represent chess.
(PS: And after we lose our minds and offend such a player, the punishment comes to us...)
(PS2: Him have 4 minutes in o'clock in print, but him make me wait in this position at 9-10 minutes).

Finally someone who knows the reality of being played for an idiot by another malicious player. I had to wait 9 minutes in the hope that my internet wouldn't go down and that they wouldn't call me to do any work or ask to use the notebook and I wouldn't have access to the internet. we fight a whole game and in the end the opponent just makes us an IDIOT, and when we claim our rights, what we see is a combination of everything that is worst on the internet, coming to the defense of the individual. the world cries out for help and it is not new.

I get that you may not find that upsetting. But when your a kid who's given very limited amount of playtime a day only for a good chunk of it to be wasted, pretty much any kid would be upset and I don't blame them. Entertainment is everything to the youth.

You do know that the average 30min chess game lasts around an hour right? And you said you only have an hour... expect only to be able to play one game in that case.
OMG....I had to wait....I almost died from the wait....Why doesn't someone make a made or TV movie about this travesty???? Or at least write a book about this inhumane treatment. I mean it ranks right up there with the great disasters of man.
