My viewpoint:
Sometimes, there's a lack of something. Sometimes, you get tired of something.
How can you fix this problem? You can make as many counters to annoying subjects as possible. However, the mods end up having the final say. However, most of them don't care about the DP, so it's up to the community.
That's where the trouble starts. Conflict comes up everywhere. Nothing will ever be settled, and there is probably no solution to this; every community is like this (or at least most are). However, we can try to fix it.
I myself could easily say I'm biased towards the opinion of the OP. However, with this we're only extending the current conflicts. We can't trade spam for spam.
Here are my propsals:
1) We need 1-2 mods to track the DP every day to remove anything not related to the puzzle.
2) Don't post irrevalant content on the DP. Even if it's linked, there will almost certainly be some sort of disagreement. This is by far the hardest part, and while I don't belive we can ever do this, we can try.
3) FP spammers. They need to be banned. "FP" is not contribution.
If this can't be accomplished then just lock the daily puzzle all together. If we can't prevent disagreements on the DP, it's better to not have any of them even if certain people still want to contribute.
All of my earlier efforts have led to nothing. But if you want to take this into account, it's your choice. This could easily be called irrevalant. I should probably just not be posting in general since this will probably only lead to more attacks and spam based on what I've seen.

Thanks for the post y2721. I completely agree with you that this should be done and I also completely agree with you that this will never be done.
29 people so far and still counting, after just 36 hours. bestpony, while I may not be such a Yui-hater, surely you can see that if 29 people oppose this, it should not be done?
